Pontardawe Town moved to the top of the Ardal Southern West Division for the first time this season with a clinical performance winning 4-1 against 9 man Penydarren BGC. Steven Berry opened the scoring with a penalty and, with Ponty on top, Penydarren BGC were reduced to 10 men. Jordan Langley extended Pontardawe’s lead as things got worse for the visitors who were reduced to 9 men just before half time. Langley got another early in the second half and then Berry scored with another penalty in the 89th minute. The visitors did get a consolation goal at the end.
Ynysygerwn dropped to 3rd place after Cwmamman United came from behind at Llandarcy to grab a point. After a goalless first half Shaun Williams scored for the home side but Calem Rees scored on 78 minutes to level the scores.
Garden Village are 6th in the table after a 3-2 win over Penrhiwceiber Rangers at Stafford Common. Alex Giardelli opened the scoring after 8 minutes for the home side but Brandon Hill equalised after 34 minutes for the visitors. Village retook the lead just before half time through Nathan Beniamous. The game was in the balance right up to the 90th minute and Village thought they had secured the points when Alex Smith scored only for Warren Jones to score Rangers’s second in the 91st minute. Village held on for the 3 points
West End’s game away at Caerau Ely was postponed
This weekend the big game sees Garden Village host West End on Friday night whilst Pontardawe Town welcome AFC Porth, Ynysygerwn welcome Penydarren BGC and Cwmamman face the trip to Cardiff’s Dinas Powys.
