Town Dominate To Reach Second Cup Final

In lovely sunshine at Parc Williams in Loughor both sides played out a cracker of a game in front of a small crowd

Pontardawe Town, playing in Blue, dominated the game but Tenby AFC gave everything and defended with real purpose. They also looked dangerous on the break.

It was Tenby AFC who took the lead on 15 minutes when Leighton Harding hit home from short range as Pontardawe Town failed to deal with a corner (0-1). Town continued to play the better football and got their passing game together without really threatening the Tenby AFC goalkeeper and the game went into half time with Tenby AFC in the lead.

The second half looked likely to be a repeat of the first as Town continued to dominate but failed to take advantage of that dominance. That was until the 59th minute when Lewis Pritchard picked up the ball and ignored calls for the pass to fire home from 20 plus yards giving the keeper no chance and a Town a deserved equaliser (1-1)

It was all Town now and soon they took the lead as on 63 minutes up stepped the excellent Fin Capel with a strike from the corner of the 18 yard box which hit the back of the net before most people knew he had shot (2-1). A third goal followed just 7 minutes later when Tom Owen's free kick took a deflection and gave the keeper no chance (3-1). Town's final score was a 2nd for Fin Capel who bundled home from close range to give the final score a more deserved look (4-1)

Town now face Sandfields, who beat Garden Village on penalties, in the cup final at Stebonheath Park on the evening of Thursday April 13th
