After two years in the role Garry is standing down as First Team Manager at the Club

Garry Taylor, who has been in the role of First Team Manager here at Pontardawe Town for the last two seasons, has notified the club committee of his intention to stand down as First Team Manager and leave the club following the club's relegation from the JD Cymru South.

Garry has agreed to remain on board whilst the club seeks to find a replacement First Team Manager and that work commences immediately

We would like to thank Garry for everything he has done here at the club both on and off the field. Garry has been a player, a captain, our assistant manager and first team manager in the time he has been with us and is also, and will remain, a key coaching member of the Academy.

We all wish Garry well for the future and look forward to seeing him at Parc Ynysderw in the future.

Garry has issued the following statement :-

"It’s been a tough few days but I have come to the decision to step down as First Team Manager of Pontardawe Town.

I have been part of the coaching / playing staff the last 5 years and it’s been one hell of a journey. From stepping into the role of first team manager it has been a privilege to lead the team, develop players who have gone on to Welsh Premier league clubs and give over 20+ players from the academy there debuts in senior football.

I feel now that it’s the right time to step down as I believe the club needs fresh input and direction.

I want to thank the committee who gave me the chance to become manager one I will forever be grateful for, Jason a chairman who was massively supportive and someone I have the ultimate respect for, in Gary a man who gives you everything and more and I couldn’t of asked for a better sec to support me, Andy, Bob and Herbie who have been a constant support also being the scenes. To Andy and Kev who have been unbelievable in holding the academy together which will forever be the heartbeat of the club and long may that continue.

Next, I want to thank the players who have given me everything in my two years in charge, to former players who I still keep in touch with to current players who have always given 100%, players who have become good friends and I will forever hold in high regards.

To all the coaches who have played a massive part of the journey, Steve, Joe and Smithy who have been brilliant to work with this season.

Thank you to all the supports who have constantly got behind us and backed us I will forever be grateful for your support"
