Town through to the FAW Trophy 4th Round

A terrible night of weather in Wenvoe nr Cardiff but another positive performance by the lads against a hard working, and organised, Ely Rangers side

A brilliant start saw Craig Davies score from a corner in the very first minute but despite chance after chance the lads failed to add to that and after a silly free kick was given away the home side equalised from a free kick just outside the box on 29 minutes

Ely Rangers were now sniffing an upset and after just 3 minutes they were gifted the lead as Town messed up at the back and the home centre forward was able to beat Steven Reeve.

It was pretty much all Town from then on but with the weather worsening it was starting to look like it could be a night to forget. Callum Silcox hit the bar on 58 minutes but, then, up stepped Josh Roberts with a cracking bit of skill as he latched on to a bouncing ball in the box and acrobatically scored with an overhead free kick to give the lads an equaliser.

Changes were made as Garry Taylor and Josh Dorward replaced Christian Evans and Joe Lloyd respectively and the changes paid off when a great example of team play was finished off by Josh Dorward whose strike gave Town a 3-2 lead and ultimately the win that sees us into the 4th Round Draw
