Cardiff Corinthians arrived with 10 games left of the season and 5 games behind Pontardawe Town. Their points though suggested they would be a very good side and that definetely proved to be the case. With quick players up to top and the excellent Chris Worsley in midfield they had plenty of the possession but in fairness very rarely troubled Nat Osborne in the goal throughout the 90 minutes.
Town were dealt a blow after 30 minutes when the returning Rhys Dix was injured and had to be taken off the field and to hospital where it was found he has suffered a knee injury. We all wish Rhys the very best in his recovery and hope to see him back on the field soon. Just two minutes later Town scored what was to be the winner. Josh Dorward, who was excellent all game, picked up the ball in the box and his goalward strike was deflected past the keeper
The second half saw the visitors have a lot of possession but a tremendous rearguard performance by the whole of the Town squad saw the lads see out the game and get their 12th league win of the season
During the game Pontardawe Town supported the Levels Playing Field's Unite for Access Campaign and prior to the game the club was awarded the December Team of the Month trophy by FAW Member Lee James
