In front of a large crowd the lads faced newly renamed Pure Swansea FC (formerly Swansea University FC) who had finished the previous season with an impressive run
Town featured many of the new signings including Jake Barrow, Steve Berry, Steff Jenkins and Kyle Cop but it was Ben Scannell, who impressed in his first season at the club, who opened the scoring after a pretty even start to the game. Scannell latched on to the ball after good work by Barrow and Town took the lead after 28 minutes.
The visitors then equalised with two minutes remaining in the half when Lloyd-Evans shot from outside the box and a nasty bounce took the ball over Nat Osborne in goal giving the keeper no chance
The second half belonged to the home side as they looked the more organised and dangerous of the two sides and after a great cross field ball from Captain Craig Davies on 55 minutes it was Town who took the lead again when Jake Barrow showed great skill and composure to strike home
Despite Pure Swansea's efforts they never really worried the Town goal as the back three thwarted everything thrown at them. Town were a little guilty of missing chances but will be happy with the end result which was a 2-1 win over a very tough side
