Town travelled to South Gower with a few players missing so youngsters Griff Evans and Max Pearson were added to the squad
Town started the game on the front foot and looked comfortable in posession. Sam Harrison went close but in the 19th minute a superb through ball from Jenson Stone found Will Thomas who coolly scored past former Town keeper Dion Carroll. The lead though only lasted 6 minutes when Town gave a free kick 25 yards out which took a deflection and saw Fin Harris's strike beat Nat Osborne to level the scores. South Gower then went close as they hit the bar and Town had numerous chances during the remainder of the half. They failed to capitalise on those and frustratingly went into the break at 1-1.
The second half belonged to Town though who, playing up the slope, dominated possession and reduced the home side to the odd chance on the break. On 69 minutes a Jesse Meacock pass found Sam Harrison unmarked and he calmly slotted home to make it 2-1. Town then missed a number of opportunities before Kyle Copp was clattered in the box and the referee awarded a penalty. Uncharacteristically, Kyle Copp hit the penalty wide as he slipped on his approach. Just two minutes later there was a repeat of the incident and Town were awarded another penalty which this time Kyle didn't miss and Town went into a 3-1 lead.
Town saw the game out with 7 players aged 18 years and under on the pitch which is a fantastic example of how strong the Pontardawe Town Academy is.
