After the game was postponed on the 7th December both teams were relieved to see better weather for the game to go ahead at Parc Ynysderw
After defeating Cwmbran Town in the league cup, Pontardawe knew how big a task this game would be and the visitors showed from the 1st minute how good an attacking side they were. The home side were struggling at times to hold on to the ball and the visitors went close on a number of occasions.
The second half belonged to Pontardawe though as, after what must have been a good conversation at half time, the tempo increased and the performance was far better. A Kyle Copp goal, his 11th of the season, came in the 54th minute when he was put through by Steve Berry. It was a deserved, and well taken, goal which calmed the nerves.
Pontardawe were well on top now and more chances came. The Cwmbran goalkeeper, Callum Brain, was outstanding on the day and saved his side on numerous occasions. He had no chance in the 79th minute though when Jesse Meacock's strike took a deflection to give the home side a 2-0 lead. More chances came but were not take and it was Pontardawe Town who move into the Quarter Finals which will take place on the weekend of the 20th-22nd February
