With a number of key players missing it was the future stars of Town that shone at AFC Llwydcoed as Town secured a play off place with one game left to play. 16 year old Griff Evans came in to the starting line up, for only his second appearance at Senior level, whilst 16 year olds, Jake Williams and Fraser Hopkins started on the bench alongside coaching team Kyle Cockings and Christian Evans.

Pontardawe dominated the first half but failed to capitalise on their chances until the 39th minute when Kyle Copp smashed home from 16 yards for his 30th goal of the season, in all competitions. It was no more than Pontardawe deserved and that lead could have been extended when Copp, with an overhead kick, brought a decent save out of home goalkeeper Leo Smale. The home side brought on the experienced Centre Forward Ricky Carter just before the end of the first half

The second half saw the home side improve but without testing keeper Nat Osborne. Then, in the 64th minute, Town extended their lead as Kyle Copp set up young Griff Evans and he hit home from the edge of the box. On 75 minutes Jake Williams was given his debut and just 7 minutes later he latched on to a ball from Jordan Stallibrass, who had an excellent game, and calmly slotted it home for a debut goal. Fraser Hopkins then replaced Jordan Stallibrass and soon he thought he was on the score sheet but his shot struck the post.

On 85 minutes Steff Jenkins scored after a run out of defence saw him beat a number of defenders to slot home his second in 2 games and Town's 4th in this game. Check out the video in our Media folder.

The final act was to see Manager Christian Evans replace Joe Clarke and the game ended 4-0. Town were jubilant and celebrated getting to the play off final plus the news that Nat Osborne had won the Golden Glove for the second season running.

A special shout out to AFC Llwydcoed who have done magnificent work at their ground. It is now a superb venue and they were brilliant hosts.
