Town travelled to the University of South Wales Sports Park and Steve Berry gave Isaac Dudding his first start for the club with Taylor Evans and Jordan Cullen coming into midfield
Isaac Dudding was brought into action almost immediately but made a fine save. Will Thomas then hit the post up the other end which was immediately followed by another Pontypridd chance but Dudding made another excellent save, this time low down to his left.
Town were playing some exciting attacking football with Taylor Evans and Jesse Meacock went close. They were rewarded on 38 minutes when Liam Samuel found Jay Farrell-Ali and he held off the defender to strike home a superb opener. Just 4 minutes later Taylor Evans smased Town's second of the game home. This was excellent stuff from Pontardawe but unfortunately the home side grabbed one back just 2 minutes later when Clayton Farrah looped a shot into the net.
The second half was different with the home side coming out with full guns blaring. Town were under pressure from the off and couldn't hold on to the ball. The were able to hang on until the 68th minute which saw Ethan Edwards score for the home side. They took a 3-2 lead in the 76th minute through new signing Kofi Rowe. Town tried late on for an equaliser so the points went to Pontypridd United
All in all, it was a good performance by the visitors but the experience of the home side saw them take the 3 points and remain unbeaten after two games
