Pontardawe Town travelled to Parc Avenue on the Friday before a Bank Holiday missing a number of key players but the performance at Aberystwyth showed the strength in depth at the club despuite the 1-0 defeat.

With the home side being one of the favourites to gain promotion this season, it was always going to be a tough encounter but the first half was an even affair with, it is fair to say, Pontardawe Town playing the better football but lacking the finish their build up deserved. The key chance came to Liam Samuel who was unable to convert from just outside the box after a good break away. Then, on 44 minutes, Town failed to take advantage of an attacking throw in and soon found themselves down the other end defending. Aberystwyth's Man of the Match, Daniel Owen, picked up the ball outside the box and fired home past Nat Osborne to give the home side an underserved lead at the break.

The second half was a tough one to watch with Town lacking punch up top but resolutely defending at the back. The home side went close on occasions but overall it was a half of few chances and they went on to win the game and take all 3 points.
