Town travelled to the CCB Centre for Sporting Excellence in good form after two wins which saw them score 10 goals and concede 2
An unchanged side took the field and they immediately went close on a number of occasions but it was the Bluebirds who took the lead as early as the 6th minute when Jay Thomas's strike beat Nat Osborne in the Town goal.
Town were creating good chances but the home side were really sharp on the break and were causing the Town defence many headaches
As a welcome half time drink and regroup was looming Town were awarded a penalty and up stepped Chris Jones who nearly broke the net with his strike. A nice end to the half was made even better when Josh Dorward, linking up again with Jesse Meacock, hit the back of the net to give Town a 2-1 lead at the break
In the second half Town were outstanding, creating chance after chance with Jay Farrell-Ali and Jesse Meacock, together with Josh Dorward, at the core of every attack. Unfortunately, despite these multiple chances, the lead was not extended and slowly the Bluebirds started to create chances of their own. Then on 81 minutes, Jenson Stone popped up with his second goal in successive games to give Town a 3-1 lead which should have led to a comfortable last 10 minutes
The Bluebirds had other ideas and Jay Thomas got his second of the game on 87 minutes to make it 3-2. Town held out though and move up to 11th place in the league
