For the first 60 or so minutes of this game Pontardawe Town were much the better side and deserved their 1-0 half time lead courtesy of an excellent header by Darren Griffiths from a corner won by Callum Silcox
Up until this goal, scored in the 40th minute, it had been Pontardawe who were on top playing some excellent attacking football in particular out wide with the exciting Dan Briggs and, man of the match, Callum Silcox
This game changed though on 56 minutes when the match official sent off Tom Grey for a push on an opponent who had hold of him. This followed a clear foul on Tyler Aylward that the official either never saw or simply ignored. Whilst the letter of the law was applied and Tom Grey had to leave the pitch there was no punishment for the home side player and a free kick to them was awarded. From that free kick the assistant referee flagged for offside but the referee pointed towards the penalty spot without any reason to do so. Fortunately he did speak to the assistant and the offside stood but Pontardawe were still down to 10 men.
Despite chances Pontardawe were put under pressure by the home side who won the game through goals from Kazeem Kareem and Ben Smith
There will be no further comment from the club, or its officials, in respect of the behaviour and attitude of today's match officials
