Scotty End The Season With A Cracker!

An excellent game brought the curtain down on the first season at Parc Ynysderw. Briton Ferry Llansawel have had a great season and finished second losing only 4 games whilst Town got revenge for the 4-2 reverse away at the beginning of the season.

With Town starting the better of the two sides it was pretty concerning that Ferry scored two goals without reply in the first 20 minutes. The first (0-1), a header by Lloyd Jones, was due to poor defending but things didn't improve at the back and on 19 minutes Lloyd Jones again struck home again (0-2).

Town did strike back on 29 minutes as a header by Daryl Jeffries found its way to Benjamin Thomas at the edge of the box and he fired home with a cracking strike (1-2). Town were back in the game now and on 40 minutes after a bit of scramble Alex Wild got the ball over the whitewash to bring the scores level (2-2). With half time looming some defending to forget by Town allowed Lloyd Jones to nip in behind and he completed a first half hat-trick (2-3).

The second half was just as exciting and in fairness it was Town who were the better of the two sides. On 55 minutes Referee Paul Meredith awarded Town a penalty which was slotted home by Dan Williams (3-3). Not long after Town were awarded another penalty but this time it was substitute Brad Cooze who stepped up and he struck the underside of the bar and the opportunity was wasted. Fortunately though it was not long though before Town took the lead and it was through Scott Williams who picked up a through ball on the right and fired home from just inside the box with a screamer (4-3). Town then gave away a few silly free kicks but luckily were able to keep their lead and brought the curtain down on a long but satisfying season.
