Our philosophy here at Pontardawe Town Academy is to create talented technical footballers for our first team and beyond. It is hoped that we will provide learning and social experiences for these young players, which will improve their life skills, social and emotional development, moral development and physical development. All these aspects are key to our philosophy in producing well rounded, balanced and ambitious young people, fit for our community.
We will support community activity by providing academy football for our local club, Pontardawe Town. It gives our young Junior League players an opportunity at playing at a higher level, developing them in a holistic way.
Here at The Academy, players from all communities, ethic backgrounds and cultures will be invited in to participate and play for our young teams. We want an inclusive philosophy, which shows that we are adopting the FAW’s motto of ‘TOGETHER. STRONGER.’
At The Academy will aim to improve and increase players' skills and creativity by offering the very best coaching, facilities and equipment to improve and develop tactically, technically, physically and socially. We will increase their moral skills and ensure fair play in sport, no racism in sport and development their emotional stability too.
Quality of life will be improved by regular exercise through weekly training and matches. We will be aim to provide workshops on diet and nutrition, rules of the game, drugs and alcohol advice and social media / e-safety advice for our young people.
Our philosophy is key to The Academy and is shared by all players, coaches, parents and friends of Pontardawe Town Football Club.
